Sheppard Air test prep ?

Nice to see that they have Commercial test prep available now. The question I have, is there something special about their test prep? I know with the other preps the have, the advantage is there are far fewer questions to study. I called though and was told that their bank for the Commercial is 639 questions. My Gliem book has 631 so it is about the same. So is there some reason to go with the Sheppard system?

Money back guarantee isn't there?
Not sure otherwise. I'm a happy customer though.

+1. Used them for mil comp CFI. Missed one question. Extremely responsive when I needed help. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Got an 88 on my ATP written and my money back. Great software.

+1 for Sheppard Air. Great customer service. Used them for FEX and now working on Mil Comp CFI.

Duksrule 02-24-2012 05:59 AM

All of the ones you guys list I completely understand. They have far fewer questions to study for those tests. The commercial on the other hand has pretty much the same amount.

I ordered it last night though so I will see how it goes. I have never had trouble using the Gleim book but if it is a better mouse trap then it will be worth it.

Sheppard Air has very good information on how to study their prep and how to prepare. Do exactly as they say. Also, make sure you download the gouge documents. MEMORIZE IT!

Best test prep money I ever spent. Got me two perfect scores (100).

rcfd13 02-24-2012 07:57 PM

Sheppard air has extremely useful information about how to study for the test and they also provide a packet of memory items. There are a lot of items on the test that you can just memorize rather than study how to calculate it which saves a lot of time.

Just like others, I'm a happy customer. I used Gleim for most of my written tests then Sheppard Air for my ATP and there was no comparison. Shappard is the best.

nehringer 02-26-2012 03:06 PM

I've used them three times in the last year and I've gotten no less than a 93% on any of my tests, including one 100%. Their method is simple...they have a relationship with the FAA! Ever since the FAA won the argument to maintain proprietary ownership of the entire question bank, the feds are able to sell the information. I think that much of the relationship is self explanatory. The rest of the story is that some some test prep programs have you studying the ENTIRE database for your particular test. Sheppard Air only includes the current segment of questions. Every so often, I'm guessing quarterly, the FAA establishes the current question bank. They mix it up to keep applicants on their toes. Somehow, Sheppard Air is able to update the information on a daily basis. If the question is rephrased or new "incorrect" choices are added to the test, their software updates where most others don't. Don't take short-cuts with the software. Study the way they tell you.

Fourpaw 03-01-2012 12:26 PM

If you want to make sure you pass with a high score and don't mind studying how to pass the test and not necessarily learn anything from it...then definitely! I'm using their ATP prep right now and am doing 30x better on these practice exams than from the Gleim/ASA preps.

rightside02 03-01-2012 12:47 PM

Used them for all my test, got 100 percent in the ATP , and great customer service, always available

rwthompson67 03-01-2012 01:02 PM

Chalk me up as another happy customer. CFI Mil Comp.

Best money ever spent on any test prep software!

Rusty17 01-25-2014 12:22 PM

I just got my code for their ATP software. Since you can only download it on one device anyone have any recommendations of laptop vs iPad? iPad is obviously a lot easy to carry around and I haven't traveled with my laptop in a while, but I know with some software it doesn't work quite the same as it does on the laptop.

Nextlife 01-25-2014 01:08 PM

You can download the software to the iPad and if you want/need to move it, you can call them to move it to another device. You have to remove it from the old one, but you're not stuck once you chose a device.

Panzon 01-25-2014 03:44 PM

Works just fine on the iPad

Aviator89 01-25-2014 06:51 PM

ipad ATP test prep works good for me, have yet to take my test though.

FlyArmy11 01-26-2014 06:08 AM

Great on the iPad! No issues & a 96 on the ATP Helicopter. Better then Gleim, ASA or Dauntless which I have used for previous ratings.

Rusty17 01-26-2014 10:55 AM

Thanks guys… I'm a moron and didn't even see that you can download the "trial" software on multiple devices to see how it works. iPad seems to work just fine. I know what I'll be doing sitting through my hours of weekly "meeting meetings" at work this week… you know, where you have a meeting to discuss what you are going to discuss in the next meeting about future meetings!!!

Renegade794 01-28-2014 06:13 PM

Shepard is the best game in town!

E2CMaster 01-28-2014 06:50 PM

I recommend them.

showmepilot 02-07-2014 11:28 AM

Sheppard Air works great. I got my ATP and Mil Comp Instructor. As long as you don't mind memorizing questions and answers, you will get a great score. If you are hoping to "learn" something, then you will be disappointed. Hopefully you are just wanting to pass the test, which you will.....

hparthur 02-09-2014 12:25 PM

Agree with all above. Used the Sheppard Air SW and instructions for the MCI. Studied two weekends and basically maxed the 3 hour test in 1 hour. If Sheppard Air has a test prep I would use it. Happy to see that they now have the ATP. As far as I'm concerned they are the best out there.

C5Driver968 02-14-2014 10:08 AM

Sheppard software worked great for my ATP written as well. Some information will stick with you and many questions were similar in concept to the Delta tech test I've seen online

ChinookDriver47 02-14-2014 12:04 PM

recommend. passed the written on them alone. could have gotten my money back based on the score, but I was being impatient and took it early.

Pitchback 02-22-2014 04:17 AM

Excellent test prep for ATP.

southernflyr 02-22-2014 03:36 PM

I highly recommend. I've used it for every written from Instrument all the way through all CFI's - currently using it for my ATP over Allatps prep

diamnd15 02-22-2014 05:29 PM

I'll also chime in. I started studying for the atp 121 written last Sunday. I studied for a few hours everyday while at work and took the written yesterday. I got 85% and knocked it out during a sit while the client was at a meeting at the FBO. Finished the test in about 45 minutes from sign in to sign out. If I would have spent a few more days no issued getting over 90.

southernflyr 02-22-2014 05:31 PM

Positive side to that diamnd is you get your money back...

diamnd15 02-22-2014 07:03 PM

Actually one better, a note to there great customer service. I signed up for their program in 2012 and let it expire. I called to re up the membership for $40 and they gave it to me for free for 45 days. Only needed a fraction of that.

Jet jockey 02-24-2014 01:44 PM

i highly recommend them for cramming or slow pace. Very knowledgeable staff to help with any questions.

Bozo the pilot 02-25-2014 01:00 AM

If any slackers are listening: I got 100% on my ATP exam after 2 study days. The prep is so effective that I finished the test in 17 minutes. Sheppardair is the goods.

DawgOnKing 03-04-2014 05:21 PM

Agree with many above. Shep is top notch. I finished my ATP written in such good time that the administrator thought I left the room to ask a question. I think she was about to scorn me. ;-)

Anyway, I prepped for about 2 weeks (lightly) and got a 98%.

Can not recommend them enough.

ClarenceOver 03-04-2014 05:25 PM

I really hope the above is true. I have been studying for 2 months and will take the test next week. Not kidding.

RazzorAPC 03-05-2014 02:08 AM

Its true. 2 weeks of studying with shep air is all you need. Everyone of my fellow mil guys that used over the past several years always got 90+. Don't try to workout all the math questions, its easier to just memorize the answers.

ClarenceOver 03-05-2014 02:43 AM

I am not even reading the questions. Literally reading the answers and thats it. This is the last written! And i hate writtens!

ClarenceOver 03-10-2014 11:54 AM

Gotta give kudos to sheppard air. Got a 78.

Shaft34 03-11-2014 08:30 PM

Managed a 99% on my ATP written using Sheppard Air and a week of studying a few hours per night. Would have gotten a 100, but changed my mind on an answer instead of sticking with my first impression. Rookie mistake!

Plan to use them again for the MCI test.

ClarenceOver 03-11-2014 11:06 PM

What is the MCI test?

Shaft34 03-12-2014 08:29 AM

Military Competency Instructor: test + mil instructor paperwork gets you a CFI (or MEI) without doing the practical.
