Paying for it
I've decided I want to fly professionally, now how am I supposed to pay for it? Do any of you have any information or advice on WIA, the pre-911 GI Bill, or any other programs that will help me get my ratings without unnecessary debt? Have you had good experiences with finding funds for training, or is it going to be a financial struggle just to fly once or twice a week?

Unless you are already eligible for the MGIB I don't think you can get that anymore, I think the only option for active duty is the post 9/11 GIB (which will also pay for flight training).
I believe you can still get the reserve MGIB in the reserves.

That is not quite correct. Active duty members are still eligible for the MGIB as long as they have put in the $100 a month for 12 months at the beginning of their contract.
You have to serve 36 months though I believe

Your base education office can tell you if you're elligible for MGIB. Some will confuse the beneifits of MGIB/9-11 or ch 30/ch 33 so make sure to check up yourself.
Also you have to have not "converted" your benes to Post 9-11.

Update to my previous post: Recently the post 9/11 GI Bill has been modified to allow for vocational training, including flight training. As far as I can tell post-9/11 GI Bill would be the way to go for flight training (or anything else, it pays better).
