FIT info
Question about for any FIT students, alumni, or supporters, or just anyone who knows. I am interested in the Flight training at FIT, but i dont really want to major in aeroscience, i would rather major in business admin. Does anyone know if there is a Flight option minor, or something that can accompany my needs?

Tuition at FIT for a business degree is $12550 a semester. A better idea is to go to FSU or UF (assuming you're a FL resident) for your business admin degree, pay $1650 a semester, and put that $87200 you saved towards your flight training...and a lot of other stuff, too.
It may be an "Institute of Technology" like MIT and CalTech, but FIT is nowhere NEAR the schools they are. Not in the same universe, and not worth the cost.

seriously....goto UF or FSU (the girls are better looking at FSU) and do your flight training at flightline..
you will get quality flight instruction, a better (and much cheaper) degree, and if you're a stud you will score with plenty of Zetas, KDs, and DGs

...don't forget the Tri-Delts either!!!
I used to go to FIT. It's an OK school. I would recommend you going to a school, and get your 4-yr degree for under 15K, enjoy yourself, and then spend your pennies at a quality flight school. The reason I suggest this, is because taking classes, and flying/studying for flying on top of that, is like double majoring. You will have no life. Take these next 4 years to enjoy your independence, and your early adult years. There are a lot of things I wish I would have done differently with my schooling and my career, and that is one of them.
PM me if you need additional info.

I disagree with all the above. I graduated from FIT in 2005 with a B.S. in Aviation Managment (Business and flying...not a bad combo...but you could always major in business and just fly on the side). I loved it and would recommend it highly. The training was great and they just opened up a brand new flight training center and got a bunch of new aircraft. I flight instructed at FIT for a total of 3.5 years (2 as an undergrad and 1.5 after graduation) and loved that. As for having no life, I had a very different experience in that aspect as well. I was the president of my fraternity, sang in an acapella chorus, worked part time, and still had time to enjoy life...you just have to manage your time well. It is a small school with personal attention, great faculty, a beautiful campus, friendly people, etc. It is a bit on the pricey side, I can't argue with that.
If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me.

I graduated from FIT in 1995 with a BS in Aviation Management. This degree is only slightly less useful than a third nipple. I strongly advise against any kind of aviation degree. If you don't have another career field that can be a backup right now, then you're simply not paying attention.
I was unimpressed with FIT when I graduated 14 years ago. Can't say what it's like today.
