The new planes they purchased from Piper are Archers, not Warriors. BFD. They ordered 22 of them when there are a lot more instructors and the chances of you seeing one of those new plnaes very often are slim to none - it's simple math. You'll probabl end up flying the crappy Warrior II's their going to keep for the junior instructors. If you come to work here to fly a new piston airplane and overlook the crappy way they treat their instructors, then you're nuts.
Again, take from this what you will. Dont say I didn't warn you if you take a job there and are unhappy in two weeks. I just hope you don't uproot your life to go work there. Nuff said.....

I flew to Vero Beach for dinner at CJ's last Saturday and while taxiing for takeoff I saw a bunch of Warriors on the ramp that's on the south side of 11R on taxiway C4 and they were not from Flight Safety . . . they were painted white with blue tails but wasn't able to make out any school markings . . . do you know if they are marshaling them out on the ramp like that before they ship them out?

Are you guys starting to get students from the easyJet programme? It'll be interesting to see if FAA-licensed CFIs can do an ATPL ground school with CAE via distance learning or something while working as an instructor there and then hook up with one of the European airlines once they've logged some instructing hours and gotten the frozen ATPL . . . that would be sweet!

How long ago was that? There have been MANY changes here in the recent past. What are you doing now? Whatever it is (even if it's flipping burgers) it's probably better than coming back. I would definitely do some research before coming back here if I were you. PM me for specifics if you want more info.

Weighing it out
I am weighing it out here. I'll stay at my flying club instructing unless CAE or some other company hires me to teach foreign students. I hear the pay is better for foreign students. How long would a CFI have to teach before being assigned to foreign students? What is the pay difference anyway? Do they offer benefits?
What is the negativity about CAE with some of you? I would like to know what some of the specifics are. I met a CAE Oxford CFI who told me it was great. A common thread seems to be that something is wrong at CAE. Can someone please elaborate?

I live in Vero Beach as well, and I can confirm that as well. They actually have a brand new Oxford Aviation aircraft on display there as well. As well as many new archers on the ramp. I saw this yesterday passing by FlightSafety.
Another word of advice, never bad mouth a company. If you have problems, put up and shutup or leave and find something else worth your while. But APC isn't a place to complain and moan of a company where it seems as though some have had no problems. When a few out of the bunch are having problems you tend to look like the sore thumb's out the group. My .02 G'day!

CAE really only teaches foreign students so, yes you would be teaching them from the start. Once you have some time instructing, then you can get authorized from EASA to teach european students. Once you get that, you do make more.
I honestly have no idea why people are so negative about CAE. I'm at the Mesa location (KFFZ) and I think it is a great place to work. There's never a shortage of students, you'll fly 60-80 hours a month (I know that's a big range, it just depends on how many students are allocated to you).
The pay is great, and you get two days off a week, paid vacation time and benefits. What else can you ask for? It's a professional place to work and just about every instructor there really wants to be there and enjoys it.
