What is the average age for pilots these days when they are eligible for airline jobs?

I started my flight training at about age 25, got my first airline job in a turbo prop in my early thirtys. I just loved flying airplanes and thought getting paid to do what I really enjoyed would be amazing. You have to love flying no matter what segment of the industry you end up in because this career may never reward some financially.

dont know the situation with thai airways but they definietly are doing good. go for it. china is hiring along with indonesia. china is for the experienced pilots with some good turbine PIC time. Indonesia has recently clamped down on new pilots by requiring 250 hours time-in-type requirements for foreign nationals. asia is hiring but you would first need some time and a type rating. keep an eye out for the cadet programs too which are a good way to build time in return for a long contract with the particular airline. take a look at the cadet scheme of Cathay Pacific and recently Etihad has application open for their cadet program too which closes on/around May 12.
