Default Flight instructor needed Nw Georgia

My wife and I both want to take flying lessons and by crunching the numbers it was more cost effective to buy a plane and then get a instructor. But it seems that all the instructors we have met so far are flakes or They can not get to us for months.. So we thought we would try here.

I am in the Atlanta area, and am available night and weekends. Where exactly are you, and what kind of plane are you getting? I am a CFI, CFII and MEI.

Don't know if you have checked out Henderson Aviation at CZL (Calhoun, Ga) They have a couple of planes (150 and 172) and there are several CFIs that instruct out of there. I know some of them instruct in owners aircraft.

Check out the list of CFIs that AOPA keeps also. There are thousands of instructors in your area, you just need to find one. I also recommend working with a flight school rather than having someone show up at your doorstep or your hangar, you get a lot of resources that are helpful that a traveling CFI does not have access to. Also, students can help other students quite a bit at flight schools.

I know a great one in Blairsville but I'm not sure how far away you are. I'm sure he would travel within reason.

Have you considered doing a leaseback with a school? It is not for everyone but it might be to your financial advantage and you get the benefit of working with a school that has experience in training.
