White out problem
So heres the deal...back when I was doing PVT and Instrument part 61 I did use white out in my book. ALOT OF IT. Hell I didn't know better. I came down here to florida to a part 141 school. They didn't say anything about it. Neither did the FAA when I got my commercial single and commercial multi.
Would the airlines look down on this? Like I said back then I didn't know better, which may or may not make a difference, but I havent used it since I learned not to. What are thoughts on this?

I used green out on my first logbook. I later read an article somewhere that recommended rather than using white or green out, simply draw a single line through the mistake, correct it, and initial it. The reasoning there was that it still corrects your mistakes and doesn't look like you were trying to hide anything in your logbook. I use this methods and advise my students to do the same. Another thing I do is write all of my totals down in pencil. That way if I make a mistake I won't have several pages of striked and initialed logbook pages, or green out as in my first logbook. I can just simply erase and adjust the total. I still log each individual flight in ink though.
