Starting initial CFI
Man, never thought i would make it up to this point. When i pass the checkride it would be a completely different story to flying. HA!
But seriously, all you flight instructors out there should be proud of yourselfves' being a CFI is a huge milestone.
I started the ground couple weeks ago and it isn't too bad. Trying to regurgitate everything is a pain. Aerodynamics is the worst by far. Once we move away from aerodynamics it should be easier...ever so slightly.
Being a CFI at a young age will be tough to get people to take you seriously.

As a young CFI myself, I was afraid of the age thing too. Although it is a bit weird teaching someone twice your age, you have to realize that as a CFI your students look up to you. Most of them will never make it to your level and you will be teaching them things that they will remember forever. When they're having trouble understanding something post PPL lots of times they will come to you and ask for a bit more dual on something... like whoa! You mean you need me? It's hard to comprehend a little bit that you're their role model for safety and for flight in general... They look up to you like you're airplane God no matter what age..

Yea I am 19. One other guy my age already has his CFII. SO i guess the younger guys are making their way in.
That is certainly how I would look at it. I wouldn't go into a lesson unless i know i am 200% prepared, and know exactly what to teach, and how to properly demonstrate it with any questions from the student. But heck, I am an introvert, introverts tend to be a little more prepared internally than most (which is true by the way)
I am just struggling how to teach it as of right now. I know the material.

In addition to explaining how to do a particular task before they try it (which is a challenge in itself), your job is also to find out why they made the mistake after. You'll only be able to do that if you spend some time asking your student questions (like having them explain the task that was executed poorly). Once you know why they made the error, you can provide appropriate instruction on how to correct it.

Ya man, keep it going. I got my cfi when I was 20. I wish I had gotten a job instructing somewhere and finished my cfii. After five years later, I am slowly getting back into flying and hopefully getting a cfi job by next summer.
Makes sure, knowledge is power.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I have the FAA printed version. I also bought the printed 2014 Gleim study guide for it. I might also buy dauntless study guide for it too. Right now Im waiting to get a special issuance due to a medical reason so what Im doing is the FOI written first, then work on the lesson plans and later on start flying. I havnt flown in a year so I have to catch up back to commercial pilot standards.
