Question Any CFIs in Minnesota?

Hello my name is Jon, and im trying to put the pieces together to begin my flight training. im looking if anyone reading this either knows of someone in MN that can help teach me privately or they themselves can. i know this is a forum for Airline pilots but im doing everything i can to get this done. my wife and i are not wealthy but we understand how expensive this can be and are trying to do this as efficiently as possible. we are both military so we can handle being apart and also please don't flood this with comments on how i don't know what im getting myself into, iv read countless documents and other forums like this about the Pro and Cons of being a pilot. iv wanted to be a pilot since i was a little kid and i wont let any difficulties get in my way. so if you think you can help me please do!

Hi Jon, you are more than welcome to participate here even though we cater to airline pilots. Everyone comes up through some primary path or other.

Join AOPA (Airplane Owners and Pilots Association). They have a strong interest in flight training, a monthly student pilot magazine, and they also have a free flight instructor finder on their website you can use to see who is available near you. CFIs in a given town tend to know one another, so if the one you call cannot help you they may know who can. Good luck!

Also, have you looked into using the GI bill for post-private training. 141 would probably be the way to go in that case.

I just finished up my private with Tony Cadotte out of Fleming Field in South St. Paul (KSGS). He's got 13k+ hours and is a great teacher. Part 61. We flew in his Cessna 150L which saved a lot on fuel costs.
