Default Getting back into flying

Hey all, been about 8yrs since I have last been up flying. I have a little over 1800hrs of flying in 172's and a Piper Lance. Ex GF dad had a couple of airplanes back in the day. Thinking I want to change careers to fly at a Regional then overseas some day. What would you all suggest the steps to take on this?

Thanks, J
