Job in Asia low time pilot.
Hi fellow pilots
I don't know if this is a place for me to start a conversion and sorry for my spelling or grammar error this may cause. Anyways, I am a Canadian/ Thai citizen just moved to Bangkok to pursued aviation careers from Canada. I know that several airlines in Thailand will be looking for pilots in the near future but as of right now not so many actually open up their pilot position yet. Therefore, I am looking elsewhere right now just to gain more hours and experience. I have a Me,IR, CPL from FAA. Does any one know or can anyone give some insign anywhere in Asia that hired a low time pilots. I just don't want to do a CFI but rather working for some companies and gain the hours. I know this topics had bough up several times but as time gone by many companies had some changes which may reflect an older threads. If anyone have any informAtion please share and accept my thanks.
Thanks you

Look into LionAir of Thailand, provided however if you a Thai citizen. They may have a cadet program for entry level pilots.

I have a few colleagues with Lion Air of Thailand. Not the best, and by no means not the worst either. I also have a few colleagues with Lion Air, living in Indonesia. To them... its a paycheck.
Not that I’ve flown for Lion Air, but bottom up, can you add what your personal first hand experience experience was like with the airline?

I met several of Lion Air guys when I was in Indonesia. 99% of them them paid to fly 500 hours. Last year, they even hired direct entry captains, requirements were: 1000 hours on type, PIC hours NOT required. Again, you had to pay money in order to get the job. It is hard to find motivation I guess when you pay money to fly.
Being in the industry, it is not the best way to gather experience, more like a disgust way, but they all got what they came for (hours on type) and most of them moved on to the big airlines around the world.
I cant speak of Thai Lion Air, as I have no information there.
In Lion Air Indonesia you will fly with a lot, safety not the greatest, you might fly with Captains who dont like you and at times cockpit gradient might be very steep. If you dont care about all this and just want the hours, I guess it is the right place. Jakarta on the other hand is a great city with great night life and plenty of things to do.
