Does Etihad hire US?
#1
I was on their site and there are openings for people with qualifications but it doesnt say if they require UAE residency or what. If Emirates is hiring US guys, i dont see why not. But I just wanted to confirm with anyone who might have any more info first-hand....Thanks

It should tell you on their online application that they, yes, do in fact hire Americans.
The minimums are similar to EK and the other Gulf airlines; X amount of jet/total time etc.
With very low time Taiwan, Eva specifically, would be the best bet.

Direct quote from one of their recuiters:
"I'm assuming you hold an FAA licence too which is not one of our preferred licences."

You are welcome to join me in my campaign to see this prick and his pompous attitude ousted from the Etihad recruiting position. Just write to the FAA, quoting the above and ask that they ramp check all Etihad flights arriving in the USA. Also write to the DOT asking them to place on hold any further route authority by Etihad of flying to U.S. ports until such time as they change their prejudice against Americans.

Folks, Eithad does hire Americans or as for this matter any Nationality, provided they have the Experience or meet their hiring criteria.
Also, amongst the ME Carriers like Qatar Airways, Gulf Air & Emirates, they all hire Americans.
As far as some looser talking smack about "FAA Licenses not being their preferred choice".
Typhoon pilot is absolutely correct in his assessment. Here in the "SandBox" there is a lotta negative sentiment about the FAA Licenses & in particular FAA as compared to Other Aviation Agencies of Europe in particular.
But don't let that be a deterrent for ya at applying to all of them carriers mentioned above.
Hope this helps!
