Did this come from the automated system? That would be very strange, as there are no hard hour requirements published besides the 4000/2000 or 2500:

And like others said, for a while last year it was >55t, then >30t, but now we had a few RJ Pilots in the last classes. So this does change.

It would help to follow what is happening all over the world , including small operators that are going out of business or do not have great T/C's. There is still a large number of jet guys 50 + tons looking and willing to move. EK is not the only airline needing pilots, but lately most guys on course are well qualified 320/330/747/767/738. Don't give up but don't think its going to happen soon, they are flushing out all the heavier jet guys and that will have to slow soon.
On a side note the rumor is that Qatar is doing commuting rosters, if that is the case EK will have difficulty getting 700 pilots
