There certainly is are quite a few 747-400 cargo operators in China that are hiring expats.
Jade Cargo in Shenzhen is affiliated with Lufthansa
Great Wall Airlines in Shanghai affiliated with Singapore Airlines Cargo
Yangtze River Express in Shanghai
and
Air China Cargo in Beijing
A good friend is interviewing with Jade later this month. I'l post what his impressions are after he gets back.

There seems to be a good amount of chatter about Jade on Pprune.org.
I have a South African friend who said a lot of former South African Airways B747 pilots are headed there, as SAA has gotten rid of their 744's and they can make more $$$ at Jade.

Murkdaddy, PM when you can as I have happened upon some reasonable info. Normally I put it out there but I have friends looking at the work closely (interviews) so I'll abstain from the usual term paper for the time being.
