Check www.emiratesgroupcareers.com and it will list when and where there are info sessions around the US. I do know they are planning DFW and PHX and possibly DEN for the next rounds.
What aircraft you go on depends on their needs when you show up and possibly your experience. Boeings keep coming hot and heavy but when the 380 shows up things may change. Both aircraft have their good and bad points as far as life style go.

The Airbus going forward will have faster upgrades = good.
The Airbus does a lot of the crappy night turns around the ME and to the Sub-Continent = bad.
It's an Airbus = bad

Chance to fly the A380 = good/bad ( up to you )
The Airbus cruises at a higher altitude. Most Airbus pilots are bald, or will soon be but they get above the turbulence more than the Boeing = Good and bad.
The Boeing will have slower upgrades going forward = bad
The Boeing has far better route structure and variety of trips with less of the crappy night turn arounds = good
It's a Boeing = good
The Boeing stays low, well below the harmful cosmic radiation thus most Boeing pilots keep their hair
= good. Flying across the Bay of Bengal in the turbulence = bad ( hard to get any good sleep that way

Thanks for the info TP and S1. I have been going back and reading the past EK blogs. You both have had a lot of good info thus far. I currently drive the 757 and my girlfrined drives the A320. We are both putting in for an interview. TP I agree with your thoughts on the Boeing! My GF begs to differ, but looking at the scheduling info for the Boeing vs the Airbus she thinks the Boeing would be better.
What are the chances if we where on the same airplane that we would ever see the same vacation days?
What are upgrades on the Boeing/Airbus looking at right now?
How are female pilots treated at EK, also how many do you currently have on the Roster?
Never have heard the hair or lack of theory! I think I will stick with the Boeing just the same!
Thanks

There are two US women pilots in my building right now (temp accomidations, month 6, no end in sight)
One was a RJ CA, she seems happy. The other, 10 + year UA CA, doesn't seem as happy. Both are on the bus.
BTW, since you're currently on the Boeing, expect the Airbus. Your gal will get the Boeing.
I can concur with TP on the schedules, from a new FO point of view. I just finished my month of reserve, flew three trips of three days each, plus one daytime out and back. Life was great. My two line scheds, so far, I have gotten everything I asked for, and I don't hit top bid until August (admittedly, I bid loosely).

That's not what I wanted to hear! You mean I have to learn to think different???
On a change of subject, how is the tempory housing that everyone keeps taking about? What is it exactly; a hotel, dorm room, frat house? What should I expect? Is the temp housing a part of the tour on the interview! haha. I am sure it is not!

It depends. Some people are put in hotels, some people in nice temporary apartments and others (lucky me...) in decent apartments but in a not-so-nice part of town. By this I mean that it's 100% safe to walk, etc but there are things that you won't want your child to see. Some people requested out of it and were told there is nothing else available.
We were told to expect until close to the end of the year for villas or a bit sooner for apartments. As a matter of fact one of the guys in my class already got his definitive apt. The temporary house is not part of the tour and I just learned that they are not paying for lunch in the marina anymore.
Hope it helps
