Clearly in China at least you do not want to be treated as a local.
China's airlines threaten to bankrupt pilots who try to quit
In the PRC its a contract for life.

India, because if they make the expats leave, then the contract company has to compensate you for the term of the contract.
Now I don't know anything about your case (and I'm not an attorney), but in general if that's not clearly stated in writing then I wouldn't plan on it. It's a mish-mash of the agency's country, your country, and the country where you actually signed (if different). Ouch! Is it so stated for you? If it is then that's a great feature of your agency.

My "agency" was actually a headhunter who shopped my application with several outfits and got me my security clearance. The only contract I signed was with the company that hired me. There's a thirty day cancellation clause (either party); other than that I'd be SOL. Caveat emptor ...

Ok, well, thats what i would be a bit more interested in. Obviously nothing has a guarenteed upgrade, but I dont know if it makes sense to take a job where it's guarenteed that you WONT upgrade.

is this the correct site, or somewhere else?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I am not going to pursue the China contract. I don't think the money is worth it and I would go nuts flying another 2k hours in the right seat of the jungle jet. Looking elsewhere.

Best of luck to you.

Just be careful once you leave the borders of the good ol' USA. I signed a contract directly with my company in Kuwait just over a year ago, and to say the least it has been butchered. And as a foreigner I don't have a leg to stand on. It seems like a safer bet going through a crewleasing comp. if infact they will keep up their end of the contract even if the company won't.
