[quote=PurpleCRJ;820921]I didn't say anything about summers, and who expects to be spoon fed in airline training? Besides, if I can't hack it, then I get those precious summers off.
here's one arabian girl:

she fine.
there are beautiful women of every nationality.
PURPLE! Be very careful playing around with the Arabian women. You may end up in a bag in any border!

I'm really only half serious about all that arabian girl talk, but this sort of response was kindof what I was wondering if I would get. Do you work out there? Or are you just responding to stereotypes?
Dundem, that article is a good one, thanks. Sounds like they are looking to make take big steps. That has got to lead to a lot of upgrades.

No.........I currently work in MENA region for the last two years and half! (Royal Jordanian) and if you get hired, play around only with foreign ones!

OK. Is it like that all over MENA? What if they are foreign to UAE, but they are from Lebanon (for example)? Can't hook up with a UAE girl unless we are in Lebanon, and can't hook up with a Lebanese girl unless we are in UAE? Or just don't touch any girls who are MENA born? That's a little ridiculous. This is complicated. lol.
Am I taking this thread in the wrong direction? lol.

Hi!
The hiring guy for EK quoted in the article stated something like, "...when much of the industry is cutting back." This statement shows how out of touch with reality EK is.
Much of the industry ALREADY cut back, about a year ago, and now almost everyone is either recuiting, looking at recruiting soon, or is at least stable. This is one of the reasons why EK will have a very difficult time reaching it's recruiting goals.

You sound like you may do well at EK. The things that seem to matter to you will be available. It is sage advice to leave the local women alone. Once there, after a while, you will figure who/what is off limits. However, as a new joiner stay away from the locals for a while until you have your IRs aligned.
Regarding how much you can save, it really depends on you. I know guys who save $5,000 (as a single F/O; this is not typical) per month and some who save $0. If you set a savings target for yourself you can make it happen.
