World Wide Hiring Boom Here! (speculation)

Please stop this ridiculous pilot shortage talk. Its not here, not coming and there are plenty of highly qualified guys looking for decent jobs.
Not here and won't until they(airlines) start increasing salaries to attract individuals.

It's up because we are in the global recovery and emerging markets growth. It's not about to "ol USA" anymore. There are countries in our shadow that will over take us soon.

You fellas might want to check into seeing what kind of retirement deal these folks are going to give you unless you are going over there just for the short term.

I too disagree with calling it "shortage" just because there are open positions.
When the recruiters come to US and do private job fairs offering tripple pay (from what it is now) despite $140/Br oil - i will call it shortage.
I think it is not too far.

ATPcliff: thanks for jumping in....at least some one understands the world climate...i spoke with my head hunter this morning and they are upping the salaries yet again....A320 monthly salaries (China) are going up to 16k....I was making 14k per month in 2002 and 2003 on the B744.
Head hunter also stated that they are anticipating some HEFTY monthly packages coming in the near future for A380 and A350 jobs. He hinted at 22k to 24k....(it is about darned time)
Another issue are the Pilot Ages...Many pilots are tossing in the towel at 63. This applies both to CONUS and world wide. Unless oil hits $140/barrel, I think the time is good for all of us Bus Drivers.
Cheers.

Hi!
Just talke to LAN (Chile) pilots:
LAN just bought TAM in Brasil, and will be expanding at a large rate soon.
They are ALREADY having pilot problems, and are recruiting in Spain and all over.
They would have already expanded more, today, but the 787s keep getting delayed, and now there is so much demand they are trying to get 767s to fill in until the 787s come online.
Add S. America to the ME/China/India for LOTS of aviation growth.
