I've seen the listing for E145 FO (and CA) pop up quite a bit recently on Climb to 350. I did a search here but only found out that Tianjin is crazy polluted apparently.
The contract looks pretty good on paper, but does anyone know anyone that works there or anything about the work environment besides the numbers? I emailed VOR Holdings about the position a few months ago because among other things I was curious about how the whole 6 weeks on/2 weeks off thing worked. I still don't really understand but that can't possibly mean that I would work for 6 weeks continuously can it?
Any info is appreciated, and just so you know I would be moving there with the wife (hypothetically).

No you won't work 6 weeks straight. The CAAC rules are mirrored after the FARs. Typically you could expect to work 4 days on and 2 days off while working to get 150 hours over 2 months so 75 hours per month. They are short on pilots and overtime is generally highly compensated. Tianjin is cold in the winter but a HUGE city with lots of interesting things to do although being able to speak Chinese will definitely improve your QOL. It is about 1 hour via train to Beijing. Air quality can be poor during the winter. Chinese flow control can be tedious and Tianjin is always a bottleneck. Overall a good job and will open doors to more jobs in China. Go For It! Good Luck!

If somebody other than VOR Holdings has the contract then go through them. VOR Holdings has a bad reputation. One thing they make you sign is a form that essentially says you can only ever work through them as your agent in China. Never sign anything like that.
PARC should be a first choice as they've had a good reputation for many years. If they don't have the contract then look at WASINC or Direct. Also avoid Rishworth.
