Expats

OK. Anybody know where one would find information on airlines that direct hire into the left seat? I have been considering punching out a few years early at DAL and going to fly for Singapore or Thai, but their websites are not too helpful. I'm not interested in going back to the right seat to do so, but the tax exempt status is intriguing, and I lived in southeast Asia for a few years back in the late 80s so I am familiar with all of that..

I'm not an expat but I'm trying to become one. I've been searching all the contract jobs out there. You could look up these companies online:
Wasinc
Crew Resources
Total aviation services/Korean
Flight crew international
Parc aviation
Some of these places are looking for Captains. There are probably more companies out there but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Hello Tsquare
There are several companies hiring DEC's now a days, SIN cargo is hiring into the 747 but I think there aren't any companies hiring in Thailand (none that are worth mentioning) Qatar is hiring into the 777, there are also several opportunities in Japan with a couple of LCC's that are starting up (Peach, Jetstar Japan, Air Asia Japan) Korean, Vietnam Airlines and of course Air Japan (ANA) I would suggest that you post your profile with some of the contract companies mentioned previously and you will start getting emails about the opportunities out there; I am with PARC and I highly recommend them.

Opportunities on the 767/757 are rare. Realistically you'll only qualify for a job in your present aircraft type due the the currency requirements of most overseas jobs. The exceptions to this are some of the bigger airlines that will hire you onto another type.
Age might be an issue. Many places will not hire beyond age 56/58/60 or some other arbitrary number.
You can register with the contract agencies and/or look at their website for jobs available. PARC and WASINC are two of the bigger ones for Asia contracts.
On your type the companies that come to mind are:
Ethiopian
SF Express
Hainan
Air Astana
possibles would include
Qatar and the new Singapore LCC
Typhoonpilot

767er will get you a DEC job at Qatar (B777) or Sing Cargo. Qatar pays more, Singapore is a better place to live (albeit with income taxes). Both have Delta expats working for them.
Not sure they would hire a Vol fan.

Tsquire...
If you are looking for a commuting contract on the B737... look at Jet Airways. You can look under careers to see their basic terms and conditions.
Ethiopean is looking for 75/76 and 73 crews. However their pay is below industry standards.
If you are under 55 airlines in China also offering fairly decent commuting contracts with various options.
Its worth to mention that Korean is looking for 777 and 737 pilots too.
You can contact any of the contracting agencies mentioned above directly by phone. They are all very happy to talk to prospective pilots.

Heard not too long ago that Etihad in Abu Dhabi will start taking on non type rated guys for 777 left seat. Maybe Typhoonpilot knows something about that?
As already noted, flyDubai (B737) is accepting resumes from non type rated captains and first officers as well.
