Exclamation Ok so what's the deal with these low minimums?

I keep hearing about pilots getting hired in Europe by major airlines with times that compare to U.S. regional minimums!

Anyone care to school me?

How hard would it be for a U.S. pilot with 500TT 100multi to get a job overseas in an airliner?

Don't forget, besides the low flight time you will need a JAA certificate (for any EU carrier) as well as right to abode/work there. Also, if the national language is not English, you had better brush up and become fluent in whatever they use.

Either one is not an easy/cheap process to acquire. A US/FAA ATP cert dosn't mean jack in alot parts of Europe.
