Health Insurance for American Expats
For those of us thinking about working abroad and still living in the states, what kind of health insurance policy do you recommend? The company that I will work for provides health insurance for me while I am working but when I commute home I am on my own along with my wife. Any suggestions?

There are no cheap options, beetle, and you get what you pay for - the cheapie companies you see advertised on late morning cable cover essentially nothing. The high-deductible plans are more affordable, but ... the deductible is high. They prevent catastrophic financial damage and get you the insurance "discount", but you'll pay a lot out-of-pocket. There may be a way to get a plan that's effective only when you're in the country, which would save some bucks.
This Esurance Online Car Insurance — Get Your Quote & Save on Auto Insurance will show you some options, although I've been able to get the same deal contacting the companies directly. (Don't let the title fool you - there's medical on the site too).
