You have had reasonable career timing and a junior base that is in easy driving distance for you. Airlines are likely a better choice for the vast majority, but that is not the case for everyone and your situation is likely better than average for airline pilots.

Timing is everything in this industry, just ask the NJA pilots who went through furlough and waited 15 years to see the left seat. I don't think my situation is better than the average. Look at all the new CAs at Delta and United. There are thousands of pilots in the industry with less YOS than me, and they are doing great or better.

Not sure that statement is true, and it certainly isn't always true. Again, saying I have a great deal that is better than most is like saying I have procured some unicorn life situation. Anyone can move to a base where they work out of. But also, airlines can be just fine with a commute too. Tons of people do it...

What sort of salary would a senior guy be on at NetJets America?
I'm just asking as there are a lot of decent contract / commuting jobs available, particularly in Asia, that pay very well. As always, the best ones either won't be advertised or will be advertised with a candiadte already picked. But networking can get you in the picture.
That said, I understand US salaries are quite good at the moment so less need to look too far away for something. Just curios about the NJ salaries if people feel handcuffed.

What are the rumors for business jets in Asia now? I haven't checked since 2018.

It all depends on how hard (mostly how many days) you are willing to work. The average top of the pay scales small cabin captain is makimg somewhere between 300 to 350K on the 7&7 doing the minimum days. At the same time I believe there was a Phenom captain that made over 600K working the max schedule and picking up a crazy amount of extra days. The average Global 7500 captain likely made around 400K on the 7&7 schedule and I'm sure there were many over 500K on the busier schedules. Those are all numbers for 15+ year pilots and the 7500 captains are all well over 20 years on property. Motivated new SICs can beat 150K in their first year and a 3rd year small cabin PIC can do 250K if they put in the days- like working well over 200 days.

Very true. Average in the XLS and Sovereign is probably closer to 300K and average in the 350 and Latitude is probably closer 350K. I've heard guys getting 90K in FDP and then there is me- under 20K in FDP. The uncontrollable soft money varies wildly and that includes OT, extended days, night pay, etc....
