NetJets vs. Airlines

Depends on how often you want to get 2-3 weeks off. With som seniority and PBS bidding you can get 2 week off blocks every month pretty easily. 3 weeks would have to be timed with the previous month (2 weeks off at the end of the month with 1 week off at the beginning of the next) or when you have vacation. Certainly not impossible, especially if you fly wide body.

Yea I was just referencing typical 2 crew duty day as that is what the majority will see, but thanks for adding augmented crew stuff. I never dealt with that there.

14 is FAA max, but does the contract still provide 30 minutes for putting the jet to bed? When I was there the max was really 13:30 unless you wanted to be a team player and ignore that.
I was rarely scheduled to 13:30 but late arriving owners and wx issues would cause us to go to the max. I remember we weren't supposed to takeoff if you would break 13:30/14:00 enroute. Came into play at busy airports like TEB.

The tour he was currently on had him sit home days 1 and 2, then on day 3 he flew HPN to somewhere in Italy. 30 hours off then flew back to HPN.
Also, you usually have a F/A on large cabin jets so they can help with the cabin stuff instead of the pilots having to do it all.

Yes, as long as you can sleep at weird times. If you can't handle big body clock changes, it can be horrible and we have had a few PICs leave for other airplanes as soon as their seat locks were done because they had a hard time with the body clock beat down. They have gotten much more efficient in scheduling the airplanes, but the logistics of long range international still makes for longer average overnights and better quality of life.
