Will Netjets ever order airplanes from Bombardier?
I'm wondering why Netjets doesn't look at Bombardier. Any particular reason? Will they ever offer a Bombardier aircraft to their owners?

This question is better posed to Bombardier. NetJets (then called Executive Jet Aviation) was started with Lear 23s. EJA bought 10 of the first 12 Learjets ever produced. They then went on to teach the FAA how to administer type rides in corporate aircraft. EJA operated Learjets until the mid-80s when the fractional ownership model was conceived. We know that Bombardier was approached about supplying new aircraft, but it seems that Bombardier wasn't "interested." The Lears were quickly replaced with Cessna products and Bombardier products have not been a consideration since.
Flexjet wasn't a consideration. Flexjet (Business Jet Solutions)was started in 1995 as part of a AMR/Bombardier deal. The NetJets program was founded in 1986 and EJA was started in 1965.

The captain is wrong. NJA never went for the Challenger- they tried to buy Lears. Santulli is all about loyalty (we still use First Aviation in TEB- about the worst customer service anywhere at our busiest airport). Lear/ Bombardier wouldn't do business when EJA needed them to get started in the fractional world and now NJA will not do business with them. I think Challengers are some good airplanes, but NJA will buy aircraft from the competition until Santulli and maybe even his successor step down- unless Berkshire Hathaway decides to buy Bombardier which is unlikely.

Would be nice to see the Challenger-300 wearing Netjets colors sometime in the future, but I don't think it'll happen. Specially since the Falcon 2000EX does the job just as good, and NJ has a bunch of those on order.

wrong about the 601's at netjets. The reason NJA doesn't and never will have such aircraft is due to Santulli's memory. He wanted to start the program with Lears and was basically laughed at and was told what a crazy idea his was. Many many billions later worth of cessna's..........
Santulli years ago in CMH at a hangar talk told us about exec coming to CMH to ask him what specs he needs in a plane and that they would make it for him, he said he was happy to send tham back to Canada with their tail between their legs as they did to him in the mid 80's
