If NJ treated its pilots right, you guys wouldn't need a union! At Avantair, pilots come first, because the company is run by pilots, not pencil-neck bean counters! Big difference.
You didn't mention what these pilots that treat you so well pay you from the first day of class  Pay is $5,765. a month at Netjets, beginning the first day of class. |

Pay is $5,765. a month at Netjets, beginning the first day of class. One of the main attractions for me going to Avantair is that with every 6 months that rolls by, something gets better for the pilots. One small step at a time. Big difference from where I was coming from. Nothing beats good morale on the line. Certainly the folks that run this company do not want a union on property and keeping the pilots happy will prevent that. I'm ecstatic to see that things have turned out so well at NJA, but it did not happen overnight with the union. Nor does it at a non union shop. |
Alex,
Like the response, everyone should keep in mind that we're a very new company and things are slowly getting better. Netjets sounds great and all but then you may have to wait eight years to upgrade. Give us time to catch up and this may be the place to be after awhile. Of course it might not. |

That's is certainly a true fact. Now, how many years did it take to get that done?

Not to disrupt all this great union and anti-union bashing, does anyone happen to know which bases Avantair is hiring into right now? Specifically, anyone know if PIE is open or going to open again? Thanks!

As far as I know, PIE is closed as of now. I *think* PBI is open, but I can confirm those two if you would like with the Pilot Recruiter.

isn't it true that they fly you out of your homebase most of the time anyway?

I'm not sure what that means. If you are referring to flying a Piaggio out of your home area, then no. Probably never. They will airline you out of your domicile to an airplane on day 1 and then back on day 7. You must live within 2 hours of one of the domiciles. If they close one for future hiring you will be grandfathered into that domicile. You can move between domiciles at will, as long as you give adequate notice. |
I was told by one of your pilots that they fly him out of his homebase to his domicile, or directly to the airplane sometimes. I'm just passing along information. Not going to name any names, or tell you which city he lives in but he said it nonetheless.
