Default NetJets Application

I got the NetJets application in the mail and typed it up. I was surprised to see that the app was still written. Is that some kind of test to see who take the time with it or just that they didn't want to go electronic? Also, about how long does it take after you mail it in to hear back one way or the other?

It is probably easier for them to sift through when we mail them in.

I think 2-4 weeks is the usual time it takes to get the app accepted e-mail.

They still use an old learjet simulator for the interview "sim-check". I wonder why a company that made $144 mil last year still uses an outdated sim, with inop items everywhere.

Jerry said it was measuring your learning curve (you should be able to handle it better as you near the end) and CRM. I thought it did a nice job.

Better re-check your facts. It's a Citation II sim. No motion, crappy visuals, but everything works just fine. (nothin' Inop)

Left seat has steam guages and electric trim / Right seat is all glass with a manual trim wheel. Whatever your more familiar with (PFD or Raw data), they let you pick which side to fly from.

But if you pick the glass side (right seat), you will get less help from the non flying pilot since some of the knobs and buttons are on the right side, way out of the way for the left seat pilot to twist or push to help you out. If I remember correctly, the glass side has no flight director, but I could be wrong on that point. I do remember for sure that it is almost always in your best interest to do this particular sim ride from the left seat on the steam guages. Good luck all.

Didn't want to start a new thread with the same title so I thought I would use this. I have a couple questions on the application, specifically for former military guys/gals.

1. How far back did you go in your employment history? Is it to my very first job before my 21 years of military service, 10 years back or all my military stations?

2. As far as PRIA stuff for drug and alcohol testing records, if I have been active duty the past 21 years do I need to submit this? If I ever came back positive, I would be out of the military....do they know this and don't expect the military guys to fill it out or do we fill it out?

3. Air Carrier and other records request (PRIA)- I have been active duty the past 21 years. Do active duty folks fill this out? It looks like they are looking for some civilian employee flight records but I am not familiar with this form and don't know for sure.

4. Did you have to bring your academic records to the interview? Graduation transcripts and the like? I know they are asking for a GPA after the undergraduate and graduate work and was just curious.

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

10 years is all you need, so your military duty is all you need to list.

Those forms don't apply to military drug testing, so you don't need to fill those out.

For these, you just to need to fill out the forms for the FAA records request (8060-10 and 8060-10a). The forms regarding records from previous air carriers(8060-11) don't apply to the military.

I didn't bring any academic records to my interview and they never mentioned anything about it.

Good luck!
