9on/7off or 17on/15off schedules. Current pilot 'bases' for 9/7 are Sacramento, Van Nuys, Phoenix, Northeast (TEB/ILG) of which are pretty loosely defined, within an hour or so drive. 17/15 basically homebased.

SICs 50k ish, PICs 90k ish based on appx 205 days per year at day rates of $250 and $450 respectively.

Company card issued for expenses (meals, rental cars, etc.). No per diem.


Full healthcare package, medical/dental/vision. Being single, the comany pays the whole premium. Families pay a very reasonable amount I hear.

Rumor is new compensation package to be introduced after NBAA.

Good people, fast growth, constant change, good place to be. Stay tuned for announcements at NBAA of significant aircraft orders. Citation X's and CL300's.

9 days can be a bit rough.

One of my friends I used to instruct works for them now. She is quite happy there. Yeah, the company gives you a card for your expenses. I wanna say your "limit" is no more than $70 in a 24 hr period. Better than $1.80 an hr but you use it or lose it. I have another friend that has a King Air 350 and they fly it for him. He said they have big growth plans....80 Challeger 300's or so. Company also pays for your medical cert. Thats a nice touch! A First year King Air FO makes $40k salary. 2nd year captain on the King makes $65-70 ish

Question A couple more annoying questions...

Is the 9 or 17 days an NJ style tour? Or 17 days on reserve/call? Also, I saw some old posts on WFFF (last year) saying a lot of people were leaving. Is that still true or did things improve? Thanx to anyone in the know.

I think I get what you mean by NJ style tours. If you have a trip the next day then it is NJ style with an evening brief. If there are no flights scheduled on your airplane then you are on call. As far as the 9 or 17 you can plan on being on the road for the entirety. If you live in a Mx Base location, MCC, VNY, ILG, or other popular destination, TEB, your chances of being home mid-tour are increased.

Regarding the WFFF posts, a lot has changed over the past 6 months. A lot of organizational changes have given Flight Ops the control they needed last winter. The changes have been implemented with everyone's concerns in mind and fortunately there is a positive working climate with all departments.


To sum it up, hiring is based on growth and not attrition.

They like most fractionals whereby their minimums are firm (esp. TT)? Also, how does one choose which schedule you are on?

From what I've seen/heard there's a bit of discretion to who they can hire with regards to experience. That said, I will say that if you have only airline experience and no inside connections, you are going to have a VERY hard time getting hired.

They've been burned several times in the past by airline guys who "give up" the airlines only to stick around for a short period and return.

Well the mins aren't that high for SIC, (2000 TT). We do a lot of charter work where the insurance companies have a lot to say about TT. Plus the closer you are to PIC mins, the quicker you can upgrade. I'm looking at flying about 550-600 hrs this year vs. the 900+ at the regional. So coming in with more time could mean a couple years difference in upgrade time. Though I feel your pain, those 1900 operators are real *********s.

At least the flying is interesting where I'm at. Its starting to get cold though, not too long until we see -40 again.

I appreciate the info, I'm starting to get restless and I want to send out the feelers, but need to be a bit more patient. 2000 hours will be about Christmastime at this place.

So how do you say the name. Is is a Z sounding X or is it X-O Jet?
