Training Pay? Not sure about that one. The day you show up is the day you get paid. You should get your own hotel room. You must however share a rental car with someone else in class. I am not sure if you are paid per diem, my guess is no. Good luck in your interview, just be yourself.

Kman,

Pay.
Per the contract Sec 27.1 ...FO pay begins date of hire.

Hotel.
Per sec 13.2(b)(i) New hire Crewmembers must be informed no later than the official offer of employment which Domicile the Company will require each new hire to report for duty prior to employment....this is important.

Per sec 20.1 When a Crewmember is away from his assigned Domicile/HBA at the direction of the company.....the Company will book and reimburse Crewmebers...
The rooms are single occupancy. The company will also provide a car which you will share. This will hold for basic indoc, as well as, sim intial.

Per Diem.
Per sec 20.1b Meal allowance shall begin at the time a Crewmember is required to report to his HBA/Domicile/Satellite airport.... So you get a 1.70/hr to eat.

Advance.
Per sec 20.3 Newly hired First Officers will, at their request, receive a 600.00 advance expense allowance.....shall be deducted from the crewmember"s final paycheck upon seperation from the Company.... take the money. It will be a expense check. Meaning you receive whole 600.00.

I hope this helps. Good luck with the interview.

Infoman.

PS I did forget. If you live within 50 mile of your domicile the company may not pay for your hotel room. This is covered in section 20.1(a) of the contract. This may affect the CMH domicile people.

Can anyone tell me if a newhire pilot must live within 90 miles of base or will the company pay for an airline ticket to fly you in. IE.....can I commute in the day of the trip if it starts late enough.

You do not have to live in the domicile.....you just have to report to it at your assigned duty time.

The company pays to fly you OUT of your domicile to meet your plane. It does not pay to fly you TO the domicile to start work.

I wouldn't plan on "commuting in" the day of a trip. Most of our duty starts are prior to 7am.

Thanks NJA Capt,
It is now clear to me that Netjets will not pay for an airline ticket from anyplace you live to your domicile, thus forcing one to move to a domicile. IE.....no one can live in a non domicile city and expect to report to a domicile on time without having to drive to one's domicile. So, commuting via airlines will be a thing of the past with Netjets. Thanks for the clarification.

NJA Capt or any other NJA pilot,

I am currently a CRJ Capt at ASA and am tired of the commuting, crappy pay and very crappy QOL. I make $64 an hour at ASA and am deciding if the move to NJA is worth or if the grass is really greener it. My goal is to get KDAL as a base or the whole thing would not work for me at all. I know I will take a paycut, but I will be in a much better place in 5 years at NJA than I would be at ASA. Plus the regional industry just seems to be going down the tube. I am very good to our customers as well as a people person. What is your opinion of a 5yr regional pilot going to a fractional and staring at the bottom all over again. I have over 3000 TT and only 200 PIC Jet. My goal is time with my family, pay(eventual 100K/yr), and a company to stay for the next 20 years. What is the upgrade time to any Capt position at NJA? Thanks for all of your help. I just received my NJA application package.

I know this is old post, but still relevant info. Is this pay based on the reserve scale?

Yes. New hires are paid Reserve-payscale rates until they bid off or are displaced onto the 7/7.

You'll gross $1780. every two weeks during sim and indoc, perdiem is 40 a day if you rate it, don't think CMH dom pilots get perdeim during indoc or sim if you're training there.
