Seems to me you would have to give it up. With no training contract, I don't think NJ would make the investment in someone they thought might walk after a few months. Just a guess, though.

They don't. I have friends i got on with NJ's and they don't ask u to give it up. And I met at least 30-40 guys with numbers still at Delta, UA, AA, Usair.

The job is good enough that they didn't think it necessary with the new contract or the old one. Many pilots (though few, if any furloughs) quickly left after getting hired on the '05 contract, but that was mostly due to hideous commutes that were pretty much eliminated on the new contract. Some may still chose to leave in the future if the majors continue to make money and get improved contracts and I've talked to a couple of ex TWA/ American furloughs who may go back if recalled before upgrading here. This is a great job, but it isn't perfect for everyone. Kman- you wrote in a different thread that you were interviewing elsewhere soon. Just curious where and if you are leaving. This is the best job for me, but you've made it clear why it may not be the best job for you. Good luck whatever you decide.
