Doug,
You have 25,500 more than you needed to be competitive...they are taking a wide variety of people. I have heard of low time freight guys get hired over retired 121 Captains. If someone figures out the how and why of NJA hiring...they could make some coin.
Either way..good luck. This is a good place.

She acknowledged my application. Just left a message as I was not available. Did not offer anything else except to apologize how long it took because they are very busy with applications.

Derinda amazes me....I can't imagine how busy she and the others on the HR staff must be but she always seems to get back to you and is personable about it at the same time. I had a few questions awhile back and didn't expect the quick and friendly responses I received.

She amazes me too. Always the quick and nice reply. It is frustrating though when the reply has no information. I interviewed 8 weeks ago tomorrow and still have not been turned down or hired. As much as I would like to work at NJ, at 60, with a family, a lot less retirement than planned and paying for medical, I need a job now. Without leaving the country (not an option), this is proving difficult.
As an aside, I had to type this twice because the forum made me log on again when I tried to post it the first time. Is there a way to avoid that for slow typists like me?

What's with all the negativity of some many people on these boards? Just because someone decides on a move you wouldn't make, why do you rip them? There could be any number of reasons why it's the right move for him.

OK, on a positive note, I want to work for NJ very badly. I sent my app on 01-15-08, and no reply yet on its being received. I need a job now, so I'll need to take one that I don't want very badly, so that I can bridge the gap. Also on a positive note, ain't it great that there are so many jobs to choose from? Anybody remember the market 10 years ago? Remember getting paid only while the fans (props) were turning? The fracs are where its at now, and I want in. LET ME IN !!
