Netjets International Numbers

John from ALPC did an excellent job summarizing the NJA payscales: http://airlinepilotcentral.com/airli...l/netjets.html (scroll down to the bottom of the summary sheet and you'll see the break-down among various aircraft types)

I was told by an Okatie department head yesterday that 16 were interviewed last week to fill 4 spots. One new airframe delivery later this month and then 3 more the rest of '08. One of the 550's in the pipeline will go to NJE instead of NJI this year. There will probably be one more interview for "off the street" hires this summer and that will be that. 14,000 resumes on file so only the seriously juiced-in need apply.
SamFox, you should hear this week. Good luck.

you may want to not get hired by NJI right now. you will be a very jr FO on the Gwhiz for a very long time. People getting hired by NJI now will have a integrated Sr number around 3200, where FO's bidding to the Gwhiz from NJA are around 1800. probly will be better off getting hired by NJA and bidding to the Gwhiz when you have the seniority to hold a good sched and vaca, or Capt on a smaller aircraft in the same timeframe for the money.

Pretty good chance somebody hired off the street today at NJI will make Captain on the IV before the integration is complete. Division President has said repeatedly that NJI controls what the PIC-SIC ratio is. They can upgrade and pay every off-the-street FO tomorrow if they want. Last week's upgrade class was hired in 2005. Integration won't happen until 2010-2011 and there is plenty of wiggle room in the LOA.

What a "team" player GeeWhiz. You work for a section of the company that "snuck out" the back door when labor relations got tough a few years ago and then suggest that NJI should be 100% PIC when the two are integrated so as to take a jab at the part of the company (NJA) you don't like? You must be a real joy on a 7 day trip. You think you could possibly try being a member of the team and part of the solution? Or is it really that much easier to sit back and say, "I got mine so screw the rest of you?" You suggest a course of action that hurts several hundred pilots you don't even know and helps a dozen or so pilots....you barely even know.
What a class act.
Seriously, go find a hobby and stop being part of the problem.

There is good info here for both NJI and NJA types.GW knows what he speaks. NJI is still separate, and could upgrade all now if they wanted. Will they? Very unlikely. Only time will tell what happens when Nov 2010 comes around.
The LOA that came out give some very good benefits to the NJA pilots, but does not really impact NJI pilots until such time as the company elects to merge both parts into a single transportation system. Assuming that does happen, NJI pilots are protected by the LOA both pay-wise and position.
As far as upgrade timeline Jmack, I don't follow your logic. Upgrade timeline is currently the following: GIV FO for a year, GV/550 FO for 3-4 years, then back to GIV Captain. Why would I want to wait for 3-4 years to bid over to NJA, then have a 3 year seat lock as FO after that? Also the schedule is 7/7 for everyone regardless of seniority. Vacation time is first-come first-served except for the big ones.
Don't get me wrong--NJA is definitely a great place and the union has done a great job for you guys. I'm glad you guys have the opportunity to bid over to the Gulfstream. For me right now, with types in the GIII, GIV and GV, it would be silly for me to pass up NJI for NJA.
For what it's worth, I got the job offer from NJI yesterday.

This is a sensitive subject for a couple of reasons:
1-There are many F/Os at NJ who want to go over to NJI, but can't hold a G-IV F/O position. These guys are not happy NJI still hiring off the street when there's a bunch of them eager to go over. I'm not talking about me, I'm prety sure I can hold NJI F/O, but can't afford to do that financially, I gotta wait for a C/A position.
2- I don't blame NJI, they are hiiring guys with some serious experience, and the overwhelming majority are type-rated in the G-IV, G-V or they have a ******* load of int'l experience. One guy I spoke with flew the MD11@ Gemini. When a guy from the Xcel or Hawker goes over to NJI, you gotta train him on several topics, not just the type. If NJI started hiring guys from the regionals, then I would have a huge problem with that.
Like I said, sensitive issue, I see both sides of the coin on this one.
SamFoxPilot, congratulations.

There are plenty of us at NJA on the Excel who have done international. Personally typed in the 747-4 and there are many others like myself and I've been here less than 2 years.
I'd love to get back to long haul flying on the Gulfstream. I hope we can check the egos when the integration comes to fruition.
