XOJet application process

To anyone that is familiar with the application process at XOJet, do they send confirmation of the application/resume being received like at NJA? When I log in, I see that my resume is "on file". Does that mean I'm officially on the back burner, or does everyone get that message early in the process? How long is the process? Who shall I direct future begging, I mean, professional correspondence to? Thanks in advance for your good information.:)

jetjockee 02-03-2008 06:39 PM

FYI
I have received a receipt from the online application and thats it.

Kdub 02-03-2008 07:06 PM

Thx, Jock, how long ago did you apply?

Kdub, I sent mine in almost 2 months ago, and like you, I'm "on file". Haven't heard a word yet. Not sure what the hiring status is there now.

tcaphou 02-04-2008 04:17 PM

Pay

Where can you go to find their pay schedule?

FalconFlyer 02-04-2008 06:10 PM

Don't think it is posted anywhere... First year FO is $52,500 I think, Capt. $90,000

I think I got my application confirmation the day after I applied. Still "on file" for me two. Its been about 2 months or so.

Kdub 02-04-2008 07:44 PM

Thanks for the feedback, gents, not hearing about anybody getting interview response from resume submission since 01_01_08.

Also, don't remember where I saw the pay scales, but Falcon is really close to my memory of them.

RynoB 02-05-2008 12:41 PM

Same here

I applied on Jan 18th. I'm on file too.

Well, at least we're all "on file" instead of "off file"!!!

FalconFlyer 02-05-2008 03:00 PM

This is weird, I haven't heard anyone getting a call for an interview on this board or FI.com? Must be calling people from before we all heard about them?

CLIPPERJET707 02-05-2008 05:12 PM

One more here also "on file"....

Bill Lumberg 02-05-2008 05:27 PM

It's sorta annoying that few people have heard anything from XOJet. Perhaps they should add some HR people to handle the load better.

jetjockee 02-05-2008 07:10 PM

I received an electronic response right after I applied..Im in the same boat as everyone else...
Here are some stats from some forum and internet research, for what it's worth............

They interview 1 out of 50 applicants
They hire 1 out of ten interviewed.
and they have over 4000 applicants.

FalconFlyer 02-05-2008 09:39 PM

So your saying there's a chance!

80 interviewed out of 4000,
8 Hired?

That doesn't sound right, more like they interview 1 out of 20 applicants and hire 1 out of 5 interviewed. That would be closer to the numbers they are supposed to hire this year.

pilotbum 02-06-2008 09:28 AM

Hi guys,

First of all, jetjockes's stats are way off. This is what I know from an inside source: the response of applicants following the announcements made at the NBAA exceeded XOJET's expectations. "On file" does not mean, on the back burner. XOJET recommends frequent updates from all applicants to increase visibility to the recruiters. Dormant profiles may be viewed as a lack of interest. XOJET is only hiring ~60 pilots this year but that number will more than double next year and continue for several years. Pilot hiring is done within Flight Operations so additional staff in HR won't help. XOJET is working on improving communication with its applicants but as stated the increased interest following the NBAA convention exceeded expectations.

The salary infromation on this thread is very accurate. Further information will be published soon.

LIOG41 02-06-2008 10:41 AM

They are going to need lots of pilots. Additionally, most hiring from what I've heard is obviously based on how quick Cessna and Bombardier can deliver their CX's and CL30's. So, I think they take a rather conservative approach to hiring based on their deliveries.

Kdub 02-06-2008 07:19 PM

...Submitted 1_20_08. Updated just now...
am I stalking? Do I smell? Hello? Is this thing ON ??!! :(

Sioux115 02-06-2008 09:03 PM

So I just listened to audiocast and Nick said they are adding 100 pilots this year and half of them have already been identified and in process. So did this happen later last year before the announcement or do they just happen not to read the internet boards?

Fred Flintstone 02-07-2008 06:58 PM

I don't work there but know several that do.

My guys tell me they have over 2K apps on file, but how many that are competitive? Don't know.

What I do know is they place a big emphasis on customer service. In addition to building your log entries be ready with stories of how you wowed the customer if you get the interview.

My buds seem to really like it there. Nice equipment, great MX, never ending variety of flying. OTOH, doing pop up charter work and always being in scramble mode is not for everybody.

I'm not familiar with their online application but if it is anything like the one my company uses, try to keep your app current by doing some online activity within each 30 days. The computer tracks current activity as one scoring criteria. Update your times, add a cover letter or recommendation letter. Just do something to keep your file active.

Good luck to you guys...

jetjockee 02-11-2008 06:32 AM

Fred Thanks for the great info....good information!

Sioux115 02-11-2008 12:33 PM

With 1 for 50 we all should at least get a chance to interview.

Oh please. With those odds I'll go fly for UPS, and have a union and make some money. Gimme a break

Learflyer 02-11-2008 06:00 PM

like being in Russia begging for bread in some long line. Screw that!

jetjockee 02-12-2008 05:14 AM

Lets see...if I read 47 posts similar to the the last two, my odds should be 1 for 1....:D

keep em coming!

Kdub 02-12-2008 07:20 AM

I can't do math, thats why I fly ;) , but the odds of my becoming a pilot given the 300 million folks in this country, and the roughly 600,000 pilots is, what, 2/10 of 1% ? Then of those pilots roughly 16% are professional, and of those professionals (assuming they all want to fly for XOJET) 5/100 of 1%. SOOoooo, As a US citizen, I have, roughly, a .00000016 out of 100 chance of becoming a pilot for XOJet. There is a chance ! :)

That's the spirit Kdub!! I'm right with ya! :)

pilotbum 02-12-2008 10:44 PM

With the number of applicants XOJET has, what are you guys doing to get noticed? What makes you stand out above the rest?

jetjockee 02-13-2008 04:48 AM

Pilotbum,
What would you suggest we do to stand out from the rest?

pilotbum 02-14-2008 01:15 PM

Is there any way to send private messages on this board?

Spaceman Spliff 02-14-2008 01:38 PM

I think you have to have at least 10 posts first. Some guys just post a few bogus messages so they can PM immediately...which you may want to do if this gig is important to you...

streaking has always helped me "stand out from the rest."

your mileage may vary.

pilotbum 02-14-2008 01:45 PM

That's rediculous. But thanks.

diamnd15 03-24-2008 01:59 PM

anyone have any updates for this place. i live 2 minutes from their headquarters and i'm tempted to just stop by in my suit and say hi...good or bad idea...
i meet their requirement but i'm currently flying 121 so that might be against me. anyways i applied back in november and nothing...

jetjockee 03-24-2008 05:29 PM

Just showing up unannounced could be risky, especially if there having a busy day. Just my two cents.

My understanding is it is a bad idea... especially since the hiring is done at MCC in Sacramento, not at their HQ in San Carlos. The DO, CP and pilot recruiting manager are all in MCC.

As jetjockee said it could be disruptive to their day, especially if they are having a busy day (which I imagine is normal operations around there). The best thing to do is keep your application updated and update it frequently.

Streaking is not rediculous. In the right context, it's perfectly normal.

I submitted my resume and app last night. I interviewed this morning, and I start class tomorrow. What's wrong with the rest of you guys? All I really got was the generic e-mail. With so many applicants, I'm not holding my breath.

Dude. keep up. I walked in, stood there for 30 seconds, and BAM. they hired me on the spot. No questions asked. What's Ya'lls issue. Just walk in, and GET the gig. Strait up. :p
