Default Who should apply (Netjets)?

I am likely leaving the Navy with probably just over the total time mins mostly in the Hornet. I am curious if Netjets hires guys like me or if the guys that get hired are mostly guys with thousands more hours than the minimums? I don't have a lot of desire to do commercial, but the Netjets way of doing business (or my limited knowledge thereof) is very appealing to me. Just don't want to get my hopes up if I have no chance. Anybody have any input?

Thanks.

If you meet the mins, believe me you have a chance. Apply ASAP, the more you wait, the more seniority numbers it's gonna cost you. Seniority is at a premium at Netjets (4 or 8 year captain-upgrade). Sounds like you're marketable, submit your stuff, then you can think about wether you wanna go corporate, major, or haul boxes. For now, I'd get the ball rolling. Cheers

Unfortunately, I can't work until about Jan '10. How far out do they accept apps?

There are lots of Hornet guys here at NJA, so you are definitely competitive.

PM "Hornetguy", he managed to fool the interviewers into hiring him.

Seriously though, he's a good dude and could answer any specifics you may have.

I don't know the answer to that. One of our military guys said the human resources department is very accomodating and flexible (with the military dudes). But do some reaserch, what if you apply too early, get the interview, a job offer and not be able to take the job. That would suck....

Milky,

Spanky here. Leaving the Nav in FEB 09. I have been told that start getting your stuff together about a year out, hours breakdown, FE exam (UPS/FEX good for two years), 1st C Medical (every 6 months), ATP if needed..... 9-6 months out have all apps in and update them monthly with new hours and it shows interest. No company can forcast hiring 2 years out. But I can tell you this, hopefully the age 65 traffic jam might be a little clearer by then and look very promising. If you apply now they might bypass your app due to avail date. I hope to have all my apps done next month then do updates.

I have had friends hired because of listed avail date and then after hiring told them the Mil changed get out date and they slid their start date for that member. But honesty is the best policy.

Since you are a hornet guy....remember if you have 2500 hous thats about 2000 flights compared to muli guy who has 2500 hours and 500 flights. Most companies do have multipliers that will help you.

Are you still in the fleet or in the Training Command?

R,
Spanky

Yeah, plenty of guys are getting out and going to the airlines here. Plenty of gouge and all that for making the transition. I was mostly just looking for specifics about Netjets since none of the guys around here go fractional. They are all Legacy and Major guys these days. I'm at the RAG, so plenty of gouge available here. I figured they wouldn't look at anybody more than about a year out, but everybody was saying "apply now," so I was just seeing if somebody knew something I didn't.
