Question for fractional pilots
Assuming that I worked for a place like airnet or ameriflight for a while and gained the hours required for a fractional like netjets, citationshares etc, would I have a disadvantage over others who have regional or even major experiene, especially with PAX flying?

From a former fr8dog now @ NJ,
If you have the time and get the interview, just show them YOU. If you are a people person, they should pick up on that.
I'm always amazed at all the different backgrounds types I fly with. A mix of almost everything. Just be yourself.

I am glad I was able to do the regional thing to get the experience to get on at NJ and avoid the single pilot night freight thing. 2 pilots in the cockpit is usually a very good thing- I know I've screwed up and the other guy has caught the mistake as well as vice versa before a problem has happened. The airlines definitely aren't for everyone, but you can get a lot of jet or turboprop time fast and jumpseat all over the place if you do a stint at the regionals as a way of getting to the fractionals. I have nothing but respect for the night freighters- they are doing one of the hardest jobs in aviation and if you live through that you can't help but be a pretty good pilot. That is just not what I ever wanted to do. If you do get hired at Airnet it is possible to get on the Lear 60s at some point and actually do a bunch of flying for NetJets since they do a lot of our selloffs. I would think that would be a great thing to have on a resume for getting on at NJs at least. Good luck in whatever you decide.
