Corporate Pilots!!!

Some good advice given in some of the previous posts.
If you really want to be a pilot for money:
Go military first, after that it should be piece of cake.
School:
Study anything but aviation, that way you have something to fall back on.
So go military and study something smart while there.

OR
dude, are you serious? do you know have any idea how many military pilots had to go to the regionals because that was their only option. Back in the late 90s, it was inconceivable that a fighter jet or C-17guy would go to a regional, not the case anymore. I believe that military training is better than civilian (I'm not military), but when the majors and freighters are not hiring and large companies are dumping their business jets, going military won't solve your profesional problems, and I'm certain military guys will tell you " not a piece of cake".
"Study anything but aviation"
Spot on, great advice. Need a plan B in this environment... Many of us don't have a plan B.... if I get furloughed or medical out, I'm in a world of hurt....

Like this guy says- plan B and probably a plan C are very important for any pilot or person thinking of becoming a pilot. I jumped in without a plan B and 2001 kicked my butt. The air ambulance job I had went away so after a few months I was able to start at a regional. Then 9/11 happened and I got a year off from the regional. At that time there was no pilot jobs for me to get. I moved overseas to teach English after racking my brain for what the heck I could do to pay the bills for a couple of months. At least it paid way better than the regionals. I would probably do that again if my current job gives me some unwanted time off and there are no pilot jobs to get. I wish I had a worth while degree for something else to be able to do where I live, but while it isn't in aviation, a degree in psychology sure didn't prepare me for any real world jobs. Please do yourself the favor and make at least a plan B.
