Mr. Gorman and his team a UsAir made the 767 program and the AQP program the envy of 121 training depts. all over the industry. Anyone around him would be wise to be close and learn all they can from him. Do not kid yourself, he is the real deal. Netjets is on a path of superb standards in his wake, Fedex is very lucky to have him. His teams are extraordinary and well oiled. A professional and gentlemen

I disagree with FB. Read the earlier posts. As someone said, he is the real deal and Fedex is better for having him there. He knows modern training and has a history of leaving places much better than he found them.
Also, he has an uncanny memory for people. I met him twice at indoc at NJ when he briefed our group. A year later, at recurrent, I passed him in the hallway and he greeted me by name. Shocked the hell out of me. He also remembered my background before NJ that he had only heard once. Impressive.

I think he did a great job pulling the NetJets training department into the 21st century. Santulli gave him enough power to make it happen- rare pre-Sokol for major internal changes with everyone so entrenched. He was also promised a higher management position in the future and once Santulli was gone he knew that wasn't going to happen. I don't blame him at all for bailing for Fedex and I'd imagine he is probably doing a good job for them as long as they gave him the power to do what needs to be done. I have no idea if he really did a good job at USAir- that is just what I heard. I have no idea if he blew a bunch of smoke up some peoples rears while at NJA. I just know he made many big and good changes to the training department that needed to be made. That is the important part in my opinion.

I agree I liked him too,he was trying to modernize the department at NJA,and he was always (genuinely) friendly, and open when ever I had a chance to talk to him. He is a good guy,a motivater and FedEX is lucky to have him.
