Default Question for those based out of TEB

Was curious if anyone can recommend good places to live around TEB within a 1 hour callout window. Thought I would ask here first as some of you may be based out of TEB. I know it will be expensive, etc. I am more concerned with areas to avoid or areas to consider as I may have to relocate soon. Thanks.

When I lived out there a few years ago, I lived in a town called Rutherford. It was about 10 or 20 minutes from TEB and seemed safe enough.

How about Morristown? I have a Coex buddy that lives out there.

Tar Heel (sorry for your choice of teams),

I fly for Continental, and was based in Newark for 2 1/2 years. I was in a crashpad in beautiful (not) Elizabeth, NJ. We had a guy that flew for AirNet as a single-pilot Baron Captain. I'm not sure if he had a 1-hour callout, but I think that's about the amount of time it took to get from EWR to TEB. It was truly a crashpad, he didn't "live" there, though he was there all the time. As of last year, that crashpad was $260/mo. If you live elsewhere, it might be worth it to try the crashpad for a few months before you overcommit to something you might not be happy with.

Thank you for all of the suggestions as they're most appreciated. I am in the process of researching it all now.

Default Hackensack

Used to rent a room in Hackensack(about 10 years ago). Stay on the west side as it's much nicer that way. About a 15 minute commute to TEB....and get a map...there are a ton of ways to get there to avoid traffic.

Hasbrouk Heights is right there next to Teterboro. I grew up in the northern end of that county, but as I recall, HH was OK back when. FWIW.

Just live at Jet Aviation. Gym, showers, snooze room, free internet, eat the cookies and drink the coffee for food. I've considered it as a way to get back into freight, but "we" are "based" there, so I wouldn't feel quite as bad as I would if "we" used a different FBO.

Nice, I will admit to living in my car and the FBO at one time. It works for a while, but people start to wonder about you.
