Default XOJET news?

As a recently out of work CL30 pilot, flight department closed, I was wondering if anyone has recently interviewed with XOJET? I was told that they planned on starting interviews and hiring in March. Is this true?

I saw an ad stating they are hiring for SIC and PIC positions. I applied and exceed all the SIC mins but heard its about impossible to get hired these days without and internal rec. I dont know anyone there so I'm not expecting anything. I was surprised to see them advertising. I would imagine they have a closet full of resumes and no shortage of current pilots submitting recs for friends.

Recent email from the pilot recruiter stated that only internal recs will be considered and that they have over 10,000 resumes on file...

Internal recs will only be considered if you have professional flying experience with the internal rec, not just a buddy... and even then, no guarantees...

Rumor has it guys there are leaving for better opportunities... maybe attrition will change this sometime down the road...

Not sure where you saw the ad for both SIC's and PIC's... XO currently hires only into the right seat... 52,200 to start.... no payscale, so that's where you'll stay until upgrade to PIC.... 90,000 thereafter....

Recent announcement of a 401k match... .25 on the dollar up to 5%.... weak, but a start to something better....

I've had my resume on file with XO since 2007 and update it every month. Alas, I do not know anyone there for an internal rec. Sigh......

Do you guys plateau out at 90K or do you get paid more for the CL300 vs. the X? What do senior Capts get paid (is there a range beyond 90K)?

Where are the departing XOJet pilots typically going? Airlines?

Pay is the same in both fleets. Everyone in the company is still on a "pay freeze", but there isn't a long term pay scale yet either... When you upgrade to PIC you do get a promotion to 90k, but no "raises" have happened in over 2 1/2 years. There are senior capts making more than 90k because they had received raises before the freeze.

That being said, they have come up with ways to make more money via merit point system that would take 4 pages to explain. So if you do nothing more than be a capt, you only make 90k.

There have been 6 pilots leave recently, 1 was a capt. Most left for 91 jobs in their home town, 1 airline, 1 747 job, 1 Citation Air recall...

Think there will be interviews every other week for a long time to come. Sounds like some big growth happening in the next year or 2. Upgrades are running pretty fast right now...

Hope this explains it. Please don't PM me... I can't help, not trying to be rude.

Is it true that upgrade is merit and not date of hire based?

No not really... When you are upgrade ready, you go into que in DOH order... There are many different backgrounds at XO and some people are ready for upgrade faster than others. For the most part its DOH, but you have to be ready or you could be passed. Hope that explains it well enough.
