Does anyone how Avantair places new hires? Do you get to choose your top choices for bases or do you just get placed wherever they need you?
How often do you airline in/out of your base? Are there options for your 7/7 start day?
Do east coast based pilots do any west coast flying?

Last I heard you still get to pick as long as it's one of our bases. Also unless it's a base we use a lot for travel you'll probably airline in/out almost all the time and despite where you're based you'll fly all over the U.S. Canada, Mexico and Caribbean but they are trying to do better about keeping you on your section of the country, but it's all a toss up depending on demand.

The mins last I heard were still 2500 total and 100 hi speed turbine or type rating. Now a days we are getting everything from American 777 f/o's to Regional Capts. You just have to put your stuff in. The upgrade should be about a year but it's based on merit. If you have your **** together it'll probably be 6 months if not a year and if you're an idiot maybe never. Several guys I know who shape up all around including being good with the customers have upgraded in 6-8 months

We are recently on the 7 and 7 and it's been working good. I've actually been getting home a day early since we started about 6 weeks ago. The company is good and still growing with all the associated growing pains. It's way better than it used to be but if you have a low threshold for frustration (mine varies greatly) then I would recommend CS because they are more established. IF you can roll w/punches then this might be better for you due to what I believe is an earlier upgrade. I don't know what CS's are, but Avantair is still getting a plane a month for approx 3 years, and in 2009 or so the 20 some phenom 100's are supposed to start arriving in addition to the piaggio's
