My wife was pregnant when I started here back in 2014 and I was offered unpaid leave when she gave birth. I was on a trip when my wife called and the CPO simply told me to go home and they would take care of the pending flights.
That all being said United will give you paid leave even if you are a new hire.

I can appreciate everyone’s positive story about the CP and/or mgmt treating them fairly. But, we are in different times and under very different circumstances. I have had a different and more recent experience with current mgmt. I don’t want to go into details out me but don’t believe everything they tell you. Get it in writing.

Thanks for the info everyone.
I'm retired Army with some cash in the bank. I'm ok without a paycheck if the company were to give me the time off. I truly just want to interview as soon as possible and get the next part of my career moving. At the same time, I want to be there for my family.
