Meet the Chiefs

Anyone been to a Frontier Meet the Chiefs event? Anything to know ahead of time? What were your general impressions?

Prettywhacked1 01-25-2019 05:52 PM

You mean like at Recurrent?

Yeah, a real disappointment.......

Expect to spend a good part of the day there; you'll get time to meet several folks from HR and the CP Office informally before the presentation and then a 15 minute face to face.
They'll send you a paperwork packet in advance; PRIA, Work History etc. Note the Drivers License check has to be Notarized.
Based on your 15 minutes in front of HR or a Pilot Recruiter you may receive an offer to interview onsite, or one later in Denver. They only have a handful of spots for the onsite interview.
It's a good opportunity to get a taste of the organization and growth plans, meet some people and sell yourself.
Good luck. PM if you want more..

A hiring event at the fastest growing airline in its most shrinking/stagnant domicile.

If you attend and plan to make ORD your home try to get a straight answer on their plans for the domicile. Every new base that opens shrinks ORD and there’s always speculation that it will close some day.

Neptune 01-26-2019 07:51 AM

I also went to the PHL one. It was well ran and very informative. Of the ~50-55 pilots there, 7 received interviews that day (6 CJOs). HR mentioned they anticipated that about 70% of those that attended would receive an invite in Denver.

If you want an interview, I highly recommend you attend one. Email HR for more info, [email protected], and they send you the paperwork.

As if there's such a thing as a strait answer.

I was also at the PHL event. It was well ran and very informative.

Of the 50-55 attendees, 7 received an interview that day. 6 got CJOs. HR mentioned that perhaps 70% of those that attended would get a formal invite in Denver.

If you have any interest in the company, I highly recommend one of these events. Be sure to email HR for the hiring docs, as mentioned above.

So I emailed them and asked them for a little more information and all they sent me was the flyer. So as the flyer stated, email them if you are interested in attending or if you have any questions, so i did and asked for specifics as to what to do in order to attend/get an on site interview and I have yet to hear back from them..do you have to register for the event or just show up with resumes and log books in hand?

You asked a dumb question, so I'm not shocked you're not getting a response. The flyer literally tells you what to do.🙄

Reading comprehension helps. An email saying "Hi, I am so-and-so and I am interested in attending. I look forward to meeting you." would suffice, just as the flyer exactly stated. No wonder you haven't heard back.

PotatoChip 02-06-2019 02:14 PM

I literally said "Dear Frontier, I'm interested in attending. Look forward to seeing you!"

And I was sent a confirmation and more info.

Oh gee thanks pal. No need to be a complete douche bag. I did EXACTLY what the email said. Got no response, so then I emailed once more..no response

He didn't ask a dumb question, and our recruiters don't play games like that. Quit acting like they would. Both of you are the ones making dumb statements.

Listen pilots interested in F9... Todd and DEN are not representative of this group. Far and away, most are decent down to earth guys and gals, including those who do the hiring.

Thanks. I was actually in direct contact with a recruiter and he was the one who sent me the flyer. So i did exactly what it said to do and never received any response. I’ve jump seated many of times on Frontier and had many guys/gals in mine. All have been awesome people so yeah those two morons can **** off. Sad that there are always idiots on these forums who try to berate folks for having legit questions/concerns about something

Nice. So I guess we can lump you in the pile with Denpilot and Todd-Sanchez. What a good group to hang out with.

I was a no voter and did actually vote no. BUT at the same time, glad it passed. I hurts to say that though. Moving on though into what is reality (contract is now in progress), I believe (my personal opinion) Frontier is a great place to be and a great place to get into within the next 12 mths. If so you will upgrade and you will be happy. Reassignment language? It’s lose yes, but we are no longer the companies target as well. The negotiations are over with. As a huge no voter, I honestly do not believe the company has their sights on reassigning us just for the fun of it. In the middle of a trip? Who cares, I’m already working. At the end of the trip? No I don’t see that unless it’s an emergency. What I do see though is... vacations cancelled once again. No new language in the contract about it so it costs them nothing. That I do see. As I said, my opinion.

Flyin J 02-08-2019 07:03 AM

Does anyone know if this event is full or if they are still giving out invitations?

Prettywhacked1 02-08-2019 12:46 PM

Yes, ask them directly.....

[email protected]

Today they gave out interviews at NGPA for interviews in DEN, imagine the ORD event has that potential, if you pass muster.....

Good luck

So we’re no longer their target because negotiations are over but they’re going to cancel vacations because it costs them nothing... that makes sense... I got paid almost 15 grand for my cancelled vacation on my Jan 5 check... that definitely cost them... and it costs them in productivity because people absolutely called in sick to get that time off back...
you’re a huge no voter but you’re glad it passed... that makes sense... you’re posturing... you couldn’t give a single reason you voted no other than the fact you want to tell people you voted no...

I will agree the reassignment language is “lose” but I’d prefer to do the trip on my schedule and go home... the company doesn’t reassign pilots “just for the fun of it”... the company reassigns pilots because this airline is run by an investment bank that is clueless when it comes to the day to day logistics of running an efficient airline... we answer to underpaid and under qualified individuals who would rather throw $hit in the fan and try to clean it up than actually prevent the $hit from hitting the fan...

I voted no for this contact for myriad reasons but the top 3 are... it isnt good enough for a pilot group who does the most in the industry with the least support... we gave far too much flexibility to the company e.g. reassignment language, 3x6 and fdo reserve lines... and that flexibility will eventually undermine your seniority which in turn will affect your qol and ability to make money

I know they are doing some full interviews at the M&Gs, just curious if they are truly FULL interviews. Are they doing the situation based items? Computer testing? Or is just a panel interview?

TIA.

I'm really starting to doubt any major hiring or pilot shortage. I gladly would have gone but why hide the event away in LinkedIn now?
Do they want quality applicants or just people who live in their basement scouring the internet looking for invite all day?

80 people showed up in ORD.
It was pretty full.

LinkedIn is where the ORD event was advertised.....guess you gotta understand the DL avenues the F9 folks tend to use for getting the word out.....or not, as it were.......

You have to be willing to go out of your way and check top social media sites to get info. It’s not that hard to take 2 minutes to look at their social media presence once a week...

Prettywhacked1 02-24-2019 09:48 AM

Here ya go....first week in April...make sure you have registered for F9 on AirlineApps, maybe reach out to [email protected] and snag one of the scheduled interviews......good luck!

Sounds like the March and April classes are full. They are 1/2 full in the May class already. 35 is full apparently.

I had my interview last week and was told to expect a May class. Rumor has it they might bump it up to 2 classes a month, not sure how accurate that is though. Good luck to those waiting for an interview I can't say enough about how excited I am to start. I had a great experience with the folks in Denver and am looking forward to the opportunity. Sounds like the ORD event was pretty packed and invites have been going out steadily.

Congrats man, welcome aboard. From the folks at the training center, they said they want to start running 2 classes a month with 25 in each class. They did also mention they didn’t know how they would be able to accomplish that but they’re working on it.

flysooner9 02-26-2019 10:02 AM

In ORD they did mention they wanted to increase classes to 50 vs 36 by the fall.
