This isn't worth much, but a LCA told me the other day the latest forecast was 300 new hires in 21.

Seems like too many to me, but that's the most recent thing they've been told...

I’d love to believe it, but that seems extraordinarily optimistic. Time will tell. It may be what the training department is being told, but it’s probably an “aim extra high so you can safely fall short” plan.

I think you are right. Frontier is definitely trying to be optimistic about a demand rebound, but the 300 i heard does seem very optimistic.

My flights today were sold out though which is nice

Not to mention most of the scuttlebutt coming from recent RGS has indicated a return to hiring won’t happen until the latter half of the year. Hiring 300 would necessitate six straight months of the most robust hiring we’ve ever seen. Ain’t gonna happen.

they built up schoolhouse capacity last year to handle 2 classes a month. Doubtless that’s taken a hit over the last year, but they could ramp back up.
I think 2021 hiring is really about 2022. If signs are of a robust rebound then we’ll hire to be in a position to capture that growth. The lag from interview for hitting the line is 4 plus months; I think we remain in a very good position, and will present an attractive career choice..

For those on the outside looking in...

Someone on the FB pilot page posted a form response sent to a friend who recently sent their stuff in. It went to the tune of "Thank you for applying yada, yada, yada. Frontier anticipates the next hiring window to resume in February." This was obviously an auto response, but it's the most definitive thing I've seen or heard of to date regarding actual hiring intentions. This is, of course, for interviewing. Actual class dates may not necessarily come right away. At this point though, even an interview and a CJO would be good news for those needing to find employment.

Take it FWIW.

Has anyone heard anything about those in the pilot pool? Been crickets for a few months now.

I’m in the pool and have heard nothing lately. I’ve been figuring late spring/early summer for possible ground school.

That seems reasonable to me.

Frontier is definitely trying to get the fleet back flying. They denied a ton of monthly leave requests. They clearly intend to ramp up the flying
