With new contract do I still need to get my own hotel and transport to training?

Including Indoc. For all your initial training, with one potential exception. If anyone in your class is offered sim training outside Denver (this includes our main SSS training facility and United training center), those few people will have paid hotels near that sim facility; the most likely would be the Airbus facility in Miami. I think it has been a while since any new hires have gotten sims outside Denver so I wouldn’t count on it; although the training numbers are big for 2019 so it’s possible.

A few people may go to MIA and be provided a hotel, but this is going to be few and far between. 1 of our 3 simulators is temporarily down. When it's back up, I assume most if not all training will be done in Denver... with no hotel provided. Plan accordingly

Appreciate the responses, thanks!

So people are buying a car for 2 months and paying for hotels....

The union wasn’t going to waste negotiating capital on new hire hotels, so as for now no change.
I expect it will but when? Word is applicants went up 300% after the TA. So as long as there is a a lot of applicants I suspect it won’t change. I drove to Denver, it’s worth it to drive. You will get a class list with emails of classmates. I emailed everyone on the list and found several interested in sharing a place. Three of us split a condo within 5 minutes of training. Cheaper then hotel, more $ then a crash pad. It was an investment imo in my training to have a good comfortable place to stay. There are several places like airbnb you can find places. |
They didn’t want to waste negotiating capital on anything. That’s their excuse for everything. Per diem, having to pay for flica access, id90 benefits, min day, new hire hotels, the list goes on and on. All the little things add up.

Wouldn’t the 77% proud F9 fighting warriors be the industry parasites for latching onto NK and not raising the bar? Did F9 raise the bar? |

This, pending any delays in aircraft deliveries. We have 12 retirements in 2019, so its all growth hiring.

What percentage of the pilot group is actively trying to leave for a legacy do you think?

A lot of rhetoric was that if you want to be paid like DL/UA/SW, then work for them. I'm still keeping my apps up to date, I'm just getting paid like a real professional in the mean time. |

With the aggressive pickup that reserves can do, is it possible to pickup in a base you are not assigned? So a commuter might not have to commute?

Line holder can do that WRT trips open >24h, but not reserves. Plenty of DEN residents who can’t hold it do this, but only garbage/awful credit is open after 24 hours imho.

Not many. I think they strategically hired people who would stay based off primarily age and experience. Just my observations.

Latest vacancy bid has 20 captain slots Now whether or not they can actually train that volume is yet tbd. Supposed to hire at least 300 this year and 15 net aircraft deliveries. Those are the numbers I have heard thrown around. |
Thanks guys.

Delta and United have both hired NK FOs with 0 PIC, and as a rough guess anyone who will be at a legacy twice as long as he's been at NK will be better of leaving as far as seniority and money is concerned. Don't think the numbers would be very different for F9.

Anybody have any help or insight on getting an interview with F9. I'm currently at the regionals now with 2100 TT and about 1300 TPIC. Do I need more TT to even be considered and more 121 experience or internal? Or both? Thanks!

Attend one of the Meet the Chiefs events. Next one is in Chicago in a couple of weeks. You’ll get to meet HR and have time to make a good impression. PM me if you need more.. |

Do they not publish updated seniority list every month anymore?
