What is the headset of choice on the Airbus? Right now I use the Bose QC25 with the ufly mic set up. I’m used to extremely noisy RJ’s.

Thinking of getting something lighter and more comfortable for the longer flight segments.

No need to get anything else. 90% of us take the headsets off in the climb above FL180. You will end up wearing then for less than 15 min per leg. I use A20s, because I already had them. Plus, the QC 25s are great for deadheads.

Good to know thanks!

I’ve had the QC25 and ufly for the last 8-10 months and I wouldn’t swap them for anything else. Sure you take the headset off above 18 but above 18 happens to be a lot quieter than below 18 so I think of it as a health investment.

Keep the 25s, they’re worth it.

Telex 850 has worked very well for me.

If you’re on reserve and say they give you a 12 pm show the next day for a trip, would they still keep you on “reserve” in the morning where you would still have a 2 hour call Out?

You’re not going to get notice for a 12pm trip the following day unless A) you’re on long call or B) you aggressive bid, and are awarded, a trip from short call.

If A) you are still on your long call until 10 hours prior to the report time of the trip. They can still change your trip if they can get you 10 hours of rest.

If B) an aggressive award for the following day makes you a line holder for that trip. They will give you a release time from your current RAP. After that you have no obligation to be on call prior to that awarded trip.

There’s 2 more new bases supposedly being announced this year. I’d say the longer you wait the least likely something other than them 2 could happen.

Any news on what they might be?

Dual base.

Omaha and Lincoln.

You heard it here first.

No one knows, probably not even the company until right before they announce it.
