Must not be too concerned with D:0
|
Is it safe to assume that EWR is at the top of the list now to be a new crew base ?
|
RDU. 32 destinations.
New FA base end of this year will be announced. New pilot base will be announced Q1 of 2020. But it’s safe to say that whatever base opens next for FAs is exactly where the pilots will be going. My guess is all bases will see a lot more EWR in their bid packages. Smart business move with SWA pulling out because of their max problems. As far as our operation is concerned we will be going from D0 to D number 45 for departure hero 🦸🏻 😁 |
I can hear it now. Captain can you please release brakes for an ontime departure - with people still on jet bridge and fueling :)
|
Although it is plausible that it becomes a base if we do well there. They definitely kept this one quiet and maybe that’s the reason they didn’t open any bases yet this year ?
|
Possible. More likely though is that we just can’t do everything we want to be doing with the amount of planes we have now. Hence the slow opening of bases, routes and destinations. And slow is relative. Look where we are now and where we are going ..

Enjoy the construction for the next 5 yrs.

Looks like a rapid expansion starting this winter. If they make that a base we'd have new hire captains !! - Highlights - Daily - LAS, MCO, ATL

I thoroughly enjoyed and miss my time at EWR. Lived locally and flew transcons, it was great while it lasted.
