It's a 32 question test that you have 30 minutes to do. Use Gleim ATP written to study for it. You don't need to study questions that don't pertain to Frontier whatsoever like loading a 727 or supplemental operations. If you don't pass this test, you won't be able to continue the interview process. A lot of people have failed this test. If you don't want to study your ass off then don't go to Frontier. Frontier is growing like crazy and has a ton of opportunities. Good luck!

The fact we have this test and HR increasingly in charge of hiring is ridiculous in its own. A lot of people have not failed this test. It’s not a hard test, use Sheppard and you will be fine.

If you can't answer basic IFR questions you shouldn't be an airline pilot.

I didn't see any ridiculous questions on there. No 727 weight and balance or flight planning with 15 charts. It wasn't necessarily easy, but I thought it was very reasonable. The questions I saw were related to aerodynamics, weather, IFR procedures, a few basic 121 regs. I used Sheppard Air and was happy I did. Good luck!

Yes. We all understand that. But one usually doesnt just walk into an interview without some basic prep. I imagine even you go into a checkride asking "what did they cover." Its foolish to not ask and prepare.

Do they typically hire people without PIC time?

I’d say it depends on your background and what else you have to offer. Prior to the contract, yes. Now the talent pool opened wide up and there are some people with a LOT of time coming over.

Got hired in March. No PIC. No Bachelor degree. Had 3300 total when applied. Its definitely possible.. go to MTC and social fairs to increase your chances and get interacted with the hiring team.

Definitely study for the ATP test. A friend just went to the interview and a group of interviewees didn’t pass the ATP. I’d use Sheppard Air. You’ll be over prepared, which is a good feeling.

Sheppard air will not allow you to take their ATP test prep unless you are enrolled in an ATP course. Go with Gleim or ASA. Unless you got your ATP in the last couple years, I would definitely review/study. Give yourself a week or two to study if you are serious about this job.
