I think our management team sees that theres a big opportunity in front of them so they are stepping up to the plate.

No management has said anything about concessions. They can’t. It’s not hard to figure out they will in October.

Why can’t they talk about concessions? They’re talking about furloughs.

cares act. Labor Contracts can’t be renegotiated. To get concessions you have to renegotiate them.There’s other ways to get concessions which is why I mentioned the disputes. I’m not saying they were intentional. There at the dispute level.

Nothing in the CARES act preventing air carriers from negotiating with the unions for an effective date after September 30. There is a clause prohibiting the government conditioning financial assistance on any renegotiation of CBAs, but that's it. They're forewarning about furloughs to come Oct 1, so I don't see why they can't forewarn about concesssions. I thought UAL was already making noises about 30% concessions?

SEC. 4114. REQUIRED ASSURANCES.
(a) In General.—To be eligible for financial assistance under this subtitle, an air carrier or contractor shall enter into an agreement with the Secretary, or otherwise certify in such form and manner as the Secretary shall prescribe, that the air carrier or contractor shall—

(1) refrain from conducting involuntary furloughs or reducing pay rates and benefits until September 30, 2020;

Technically most haven’t even said they were furloughing. They just projected future staffing numbers and run a massive displacement bids. A few Ual friends had to dig deep into cares act to see if they were going to be pay protected as captains till October 1 after they were downgraded. They won’t be. A bit of a back door paycutt prior to October 1.

Ual has definitely been skirting cares act language with some of thier public statements. Haven’t heard about 30% cuts but it’s entirely possible? That would be illegal once Ual took the cares act funding like you just mentioned. Once Ual made a 30% concessions proposal that would be considered a renegotiation. I day trade with one of thier union reps and he hasn’t mentioned it.

Looking back at news items it looks like it was a 30% cut in management/admin staffing along with pilot displacements, all effective after 9/30, not paycuts.

Im sure its coming. No reason to discuss it till October 1. It’s hard to negotiate a contract when you have no idea how many pilots you have. Costs are impossible to determine. Several carriers haven’t even taken furlough mitigation steps yet. Cart before horse. Hopefully demand comes back quickly over the next month or 2.

Does anyone have any info if we are keeping the 320 CEOs when we start bringing the planes back from Roswell ? I heard the 319s will be retired for sure but not much else.
