Default RESV vs LINE for vacation

If one doesn’t have a preference between holding a line or being on reserve, which gives gives you more time off, or bang for your buck so to say when using a week of vacation?

I thought I heard that it was bidding for the FDO line, using your vacation, and then using the 30hrs rest and you end up getting like 24 days off or something.

If you bid res cash out your vac in the vac adjustment period. It’s a no brainer. If you don’t you’re only dropping 4 rdp’s instead of getting paid for 7 vac days.

If your goal is time off bid a line. Or as mentioned fdo. Fdo allows you to drop 7 rdp.

FDO you can drop 9 RDP using unpaid vacation stretch days.

Yup. If you don’t care about losing the pay.

I would rather have a kidney cut out with a rusty box knife in a Tijuana back alley with only Roseanne Barr's sweaty thong to bite on for anesthetic than be crew scheduling's beyotch.

There are just some things that aren't worth a few extra dollars.

Pay for two of the rdp’s. You’re using unpaid vac days to drop them. That’s the way i understand it anyhow. Could be wrong.

nice. Another no brainer. Also you always want to add a stretch to res if you don’t cash out credit in the adjustment period. Check the known absence chart before bidding res in a vac month.
