How much seniority at F9 would you give up?
My biggest fear would probably be that the NK/B6 merger will result in a big growth slowdown. The merger is going up be costly, time consuming and messy. Im sure they will get thru it but it could cause a slow down/ stop in hiring and upgrading.
Just a fear and a guess, I could be totally wrong but I'm not 100% convinced the merger is a slam dunk.
If you've only been at F9 a few months, you sure aren't giving up much though.....

Im assuming the op is in SFL. So depending on where you live at least you aren’t far from MCO too. Anything is possible, but I highly doubt MIA, or any base closes again.
I’d be curious to see what happens to FL bases once the merger is complete. Could end up very senior especially on the CA side.
Either way you’ll be fine. Why not AA though? That would make more sense.

Your friends should really reevaluate their decision making skills.
